The camera sweeps and caresses these objects, the close-range shots, the intended blurriness, try to bring forward the delicate composition and subtle coloring of the blossoms, their extreme physicality and fragility. Fragments of reality are transformed into abstracts to appear in a painterly quality. This was my intention when I shot the series Close Up over several years in my small garden. I worked with a Leica R5 camera and a Macro-Elmarit R lens on 36mm film and diapositive as they gave me the best results in coloring and grain. I then enlarge parts of the shots even more to reach a further dissolution, blurriness and granulation. The photos are printed on a 60x60 cm size and have been exhibited in a solo show and several group shows. The work is in progress.
